D2 performed all earthwork and site preparation for Amtrak’s West Terminal Renovation and Relocation project at Washington Union Station.
Our scope included site clearing, selective demolition, excavation, trenching, backfilling, compaction, grading, erosion and sediment control, and protection of existing utilities and structures.
We executed all work within the highly restricted, continuously operating rail environment, coordinating closely with Grunley, Amtrak, WMATA, and multiple trades.
D2 also managed access logistics through the station’s utility tunnel, maintained strict safety and security compliance, and delivered all earthwork for the Satellite Commissary and Fire Pump Building packages in accordance with the project’s detailed phasing, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
